Assignment

Two ways to learn about the West Area Computing Unit are given above. The book is more historically accurate than the movie, as the content for the movie was adapted to best fit that format. Select at least one of the sources given above, or an alternative source. On the social media platform of your choice, make a post or series of posts answering the following questions:

1. What are your overall impressions from the stories? What sticks with you the most strongly?

2. Explain the risks for the NACA and the space mission if the West Area Computing Unit was not properly staffed and supported. This question may require additional research.

3. Give an example where leadership could have been more proactive in meeting the needs of the West Area Computing Unit. Discuss the importance of actively seeking ways to best support your team and community.
